HOT AIR BALLOON OVER LUXORThe early morning silence is almost tangible as the sun gently kisses the tops of the nearby mountains. It will be hot later in the day, but for now, it is comfortably cool. The balloon attached to the basket you are standing in rises gently from the ground, transporting you into an environment normally only frequented by the birds. Look down, and to the East, you will see the majestic Nile and the city of Luxor. To the West is the funerary temple of Hatshepsut planted firmly at the foot of the mountains that form a protective barrier between the “River of Life” and the Valley of the Kings, possibly one of the world’s most opulent cemeteries.
