SANTA LIVES HERE
“Where does Santa Claus live?” How often have you heard that question? And how often have you replied with a vague “The North Pole”…or even more vague “The Arctic Circle”?
Well, the Arctic Circle is correct…more specifically, Santa’s Village in Rovaniemi in Lapland – the place where fantasy meets natural beauty.
Except for Christmas Eve, when he’s out delivering presents, Santa, his elves and his special reindeer live here all year round and would love it if you paid him a visit. Whether you’re 8 or 80, you’re never too old to visit this magical man and the equally magical country he lives in.
The best time to visit is from January to April, when he’s winding down from this Christmas and gearing up for the next one and when you can ride in a sleigh drawn by your personal reindeer or on a sled pulled by a team of beautiful, healthy huskies.
And while you’re there, try some of the other magical activities that you can’t do in other parts of the world – skiing, tobogganing, fat biking, snowmobiling – or simply sit around a fire, enjoying its warmth while you look for the elusive Northern Lights. If you’re lucky, you might just see them.
